Angie retired early from a career in education and is from Clemson South Carolina. She is the sweetest woman I have ever known. She also has her Master’s degree and about 90 hours past for State Director of Reading, several specializations and certifications, Speaks Spanish, Teaches ESOL and speed reads.
Davy has a Masters in Counseling and holds undergraduate degrees in psychology, gerontology and is experienced in community agency and schools. Worked in mental health and various other endeavors from climbing towers and helping put up log cabins to night management for a marina and complete management of all aspects of pre-need, at-need, aftercare, insurance and custom monuments.
Both share a love for love learning, thinking and diversity, good conversation, music, food, animals, the outdoors, experience and life, people and solitude, Alvin and each other.

Alvin attended Binghamtown pre-school and has attended Heritage Christian Academy from kindergarten through grade 5. He loves fishing, tubing, swimming, cooking, his friends, animals, reading, jokes, Xbox, his iPad and life.

Gentle giants that will probably be inside in the AC if it’s hot out or sometimes just cause they want to be inside. They share two feline friends: Panther & Ms Kitty. They also keep raccoons and opossums out of the trash but generally don’t seem to notice or be noticed very often by the deer that we see almost everyday or the occasional wild turkeys.

This place is a sanctuary in a beautiful part of nature and is specifically for escaping that sort of stress entirely. Very quiet here almost all of the time but there is a possibility for noise especially on some major holiday weekends. Usually if someone comes down the road it is the Post Man, UPS or Fed EX except for the 4th of July when our boat dock is often a prime location for a big fireworks display. Usually can’t tell a Saturday from a Tuesday most of the time as 80-90% of houses in the area are second vacation homes and unoccupied most of the year. Only 2 houses are located past ours before the cul-de-sac. We are separated by trees and woods on both sides. Private yet very Conveniently located.
Plenty of Convenient Parking located across the concrete driveway. A Large Heavy Duty Wagon is Available for loading and unloading. Plenty of Great biking and hiking spaces are all around. Close to Knoxville, Cumberland Gap, The Smokey Mountains, Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg, Cherokee NC and plenty of options should you choose to leave the lake for a while or your against fishing in the rain.
We are located approximately 8 Miles to New Tazewell Municipal Airport and about 9 Miles to Woodlake Golf & Country Club. Hospital, Veterinarian, Groceries, Walmart, Dollar Stores, Subway, McDonalds, KFC, Taco Bell, Local Dining, Antiques & Thrift Shops, etc. all within a 5-7 Mile Drive. Awesome hiking in and around the national and state parks and all over the area to Magic Places like The White Rocks or the Sand Cave or water falls and rivers as well as more historical trails from Daniel Boone heading west to the Tri State Marker. Lots of things to do like Annual events, local and regional Music, Sports, River Rafting, Coffee Shops, Dirt Track Racing, Farms, Horses, Wineries, National, State & Local Parks, University, Museums and much more to discover

Plenty of Covered and Sun Deck Space, Plugs, Charging Stations, Outdoor Furniture, Tent Spaces and Boat Dock. Some Basic Camping Gear may be Available. Prices vary seasonally and are listed for the”Custom Cedar and Walnut King Studio Apartment,” “Two Adjoining Rooms Queen Apartment” and “Tiny Home” Only. Additional Per head deals available on multiple rentals. Generator, Camping Sites, Boat Rides, Exclusive Hot Tub Use and other amenities additional and subject to availability. Taxes, Fees, Insurance and Related Things.
State and County Occupancy Tax is 12.5% of your rate minus any third party fees and is due Before or at the time of check in. TripAdvisor already Collects and Airbnb will start March 2018 when you book and remit it to the State, County and City.
TVA’s main purpose for the lake being the generating of electricity at Norris Dam and lake levels vary by season. Recreation must step back for a hopefully short winter season. Generator Optional Plus Gas & Oil Used. Plug in power only available closer to the house with advanced notice and expense of help to move it. Tiny Home is Mobile though so we can move it near the house with advanced notice or leave it right by the lake under shade trees where it is now. You are welcome to bring your own generator as well. You are also welcome to plug into any of our outlets on all sides of the wrap around covered decking or sun deck below for charging phones or laptops or any needs. We also provide a 5 way charger so the whole family can keep devices powered. If you frequent the outdoors off the grid type get a way’s and living but require electricity for work on a lap top or something you may want to consider battery power, solar or investing in a small inverter type generator easily transported in any type of auto back floor board or trunk.
It started as a dream in 2011 when we found the property online and my then four year old and I came to view it, walked passed the house into the yard and on down to the boat dock and decided that it would be the perfect place to live. After years of remodeling and many projects we went live on airbnb (where you can still instantly book directly) in July of 2017 and met 5 star Super Host criteria for our first season by the end of September in under a quarter of the allotted time and a late season start. We later expanded to TripAdvisor, Holiday Lettings, FlipKey and HouseTrip as well. Much of our success can be attributed to the help of my sweet wife and my son’s “other mother” that came here from South Carolina to stay in 2015.
We just recently celebrated our anniversary and I am happily married to the love of my life living in paradise. Fairy tales do exist. Absolute unconditional love. Family and friends are very important to us.
We continue to meet some of the most diverse, fun, kind and interesting people and could never have imagined how much fun hosting would be. So far every guest has literally made us think, feel and believe in terms like “mi casa es su casa” and a Lakota Sioux term learned years ago during a vision quest “Mitákuye Oyás’iŋ” (All Are Related) There really seems to be something to the whole Law of Attraction ideation.
